Volunteer Leadership Opportunity – Walk to End Alzheimer’s®
Join a powerful network of senior executives leading the charge to end Alzheimer’s. As a member of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will leverage your influence, relationships, and leadership to strengthen one of the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising events. Working alongside the Executive Event Chair and in partnership with Alzheimer’s Association staff, you will help drive revenue growth, expand corporate engagement, and elevate the visibility of this critical mission.
Your leadership directly accelerates research, support, and hope for millions affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
Length of Involvement: 12–18 months
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Mission
- Serve as a visible and effective volunteer leader for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, helping ensure revenue and participation goals are achieved.
Activate Corporate Support
- Commit your company as a sponsor at one of the top three sponsorship levels.
- Form a corporate Walk team and appoint a Company Coordinator to serve as team captain and lead internal engagement.
Recruit High-Level Leadership
- Recruit at least two additional Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members, expanding the network of business and community leaders championing the event.
Engage in Strategic Planning
- Attend three ELT meetings (held in Jan/Feb, Apr/May, and Jul/Aug), supported by Alzheimer’s Association staff.
Lead by Example in Fundraising
- Fundraise $2,500 on your individual Walk page to earn Elite Grand Champion status.
Expand the Walk’s Corporate Reach
- Recruit at least two additional community leaders or corporations to join the Walk through sponsorships and company teams.
- Secure at least two sponsors at Tier 3 or above (separate from ELT members you recruit).
- Recruit at least two company teams, each with a fundraising goal of $2,000 or more.
Be Present & Visible
- Attend key Walk events, including:
- Company Team Kickoff
- Walk to End Alzheimer’s Kickoff
- Walk Celebration Party
Cultivate Future Leadership
- Collaborate with ELT peers and the Chair to plan and execute a successful Leadership Breakfast, designed to identify future ELT members, potential Executive Event Chairs, and new corporate sponsors.
- Work with staff leadership to recommend and secure at least one volunteer to serve on the 2026 Walk Executive Leadership Committee.
Strengthen Partnerships
- Maintain regular communication with the ELT Chair and Alzheimer’s Association staff partner to ensure alignment and continued progress.
- Attend leadership or sponsorship meetings with companies you recommend, partnering with staff to secure commitments and support.
Champion Awareness & Education
- Promote Alzheimer’s and dementia education by hosting an Alzheimer’s Association education program for your workforce, helping elevate understanding across your organization.
