Description
DINNER, SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION, LIVE MUSIC, AND DANCING!
The Heroin epidemic continues to expand its reach as overdose deaths in Warren County have tripled since 2014 and Ohio is now #2 in the nation for overdoses. Our community continues to be eroded by this powerful epidemic. But hope and help have also risen. Something very unique and special began to grow; a fusion of faith based organizations, private donors, and public dollars joining together to make a difference.
THERE IS HOPE. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve begun to implement critical help needed to support families affected by heroin.
- Established The Heroin Hopeline providing a one-stop resource for affected families to get connected to the help they need. Thousands have visited the website and many have called the Hopeline where help is waiting.
- Funded a Care Coordinator to help navigate opiate/heroin addicted individuals & families through the system. Our Care Coordinator follows up with all who call into the Hopeline helping them navigate the often complicated road to recovery. Over 1,000 families have been assisted and hundreds taken directly into treatment.
- Judge Robert Peeler’s Warren County Drug Court Program aimed at helping addicts kick heroin is celebrating success after its first year. More than two-dozen people who went through the program have been clean for the past year, 19 are currently active and to date there have been no relapses.
- Open a recovery home in 2017-2018. There is an acute lack of recovery housing in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati and nothing in Warren County. Recovering addicts need a safe place where they can learn how to reintegrate in to the community.
- Add a second Care Coordinator to double our efforts in providing free guidance on finding counseling, treatment centers, and insurance to those seeking recovery.
- Continue to assess our local landscape of care to identify where gaps exist in the continuum of recovery.
- Partner with select organizations to provide resources needed for education and mentoring
