Open House Chili Dinner at Warren Co. Career Center

The annual Open House and Chili Dinner at the Warren County Career Center will be held Monday, Dec. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event is open to all community members, and especially high school sophomores and their parents or guardians. Orientations will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will repeat throughout the evening in the WCCC Media Center. WCCC staff will be on hand to answer questions and labs will be open for tours. Terry Benedict, representing the Greater Cincinnati Tech Prep Consortium, Bob Sheehan, representing the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium, Louise Hayes from Warren Educational College Access Network and Yvonne Kaszubowski, Warren County Career Development Coordinator, will be presenting informational sessions in the WCCC Computer Lab at 5 and 6 p.m. on Tech Prep and college access, financial aid information, on-line resources, and early college options for high school students. Information will also be available about the many Adult Education programs offered at the WCCC Main Campus in Lebanon and South Campus in Kings Mills. Adult learners have the opportunity to enroll in programs in the following areas: ABLE/GED/ESOL, Auctioneering, Career and Personal Development Workshops, Computers, Cosmetology, Employability Skills, Health, Heavy Equipment/Site Construction, Information Technology, Job and Career Search Workshops, Public Safety Services and Trade and Industrial. New programs coming next year include Electrical Lineman Mechanic and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. Dinner is served from 4-6:30 p.m. Cost is $5 and includes beef or vegetarian chili, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert and beverage. All interested sophomores from Lebanon, Franklin, Kings, Little Miami, Waynesville and Springboro are invited to eat dinner at no charge.
