Description
Throughout the summer of 2021 the MADE Chamber is going on tour to support local businesses, spread positivity, give back to the community and encourage local commerce. MADE Brigades will be a combination of in-person and virtual events happening every week.
What are MADE Brigades?
They come in all different forms! Here are a few of the ways we'll be celebrating the businesses community and MADE region this summer.
- "Flashmobs" - show up at a certain time and location to encourage support and commerce
- Parades, Classes, Demonstrations
- Spirit Days
Every week we will reveal the surprise location and activity, so check to see if we're coming to a spot near you! This week we're heading to Kingswood Park for a Picnic & Pick-Up networking and volunteer opportunity on Thursday, June 24! We'll be working with the Ohio River Foundation to clean-up Kingswood Park. Snacks and coffee from Rooted Grounds Coffee Co. will be provided to all volunteers.
Kingswood Park Habitat Restoration
June 24, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Join Ohio River Foundation as we remove harmful invasive honeysuckle and callery pear from Kingswood North. Volunteers will hand saw/trim small plants and trees and help drag them to the chipper area. Volunteers should be prepared for the weather in durable, layered clothing, long pants, long sleeves, hat, sunglasses and work gloves. Please wear sturdy closed-toed shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Directions: Please park in the pavilion lot, follow the bike path North across Innovation Way and follow the arrows to the work site. You will follow the main path to the pond and the workers will be set up right past the pond.
