Description
Enjoy the Independence Day holiday weekend with the Downtown Block Party event on Saturday, July 3 at the Downtown Plaza! This year’s special Downtown Block Party event will feature live music and fun for the community to enjoy along with food, beverages, kids’ activities, local business displays, and a Rozzi’s famous fireworks display viewable from the Downtown Plaza.
The Downtown Block Party will kick off on Saturday, July 3 beginning at 6:00 p.m. featuring music by nationally touring tribute bands “The Spazmatics” from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and “The Windbreakers” will then take the stage at 8 p.m. playing hits from the 80’s. Music will continue throughout the evening until 10 p.m. concluding with a Rozzi’s famous fireworks display, viewable from the Downtown Plaza. Kids’ activities, vendors and exhibitors will fill the streets, so residents are encouraged to come out and celebrate the holiday weekend! Proceeds from beverage sales will benefit the Mason Parks and Recreation Foundation and American Legion Post 194.
While at the Downtown Block Party, be sure to take advantage of the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area. Stop into your favorite participating establishment in the DORA district to enjoy a beverage outside while listening to the music and participating in all the fun activities! For more information on the City’s DORA and participating establishments, please visit https://www.imaginemason.org/things-to-do/mason-designated-outdoor-refreshment-area/.
Due to the extent of activities taking place on July 3, road closures will occur to ensure the safety of event participants. US Route 42 from the intersection of North East Street to Second Avenue and West Main Street from US Route 42 to N. Forest Avenue will close beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 3 for the Downtown Block Party event. Detours for local traffic will be provided.
