There will be games for beginner level players as well as advanced level players. Games will be played to 15 points, with the best of 3 games advancing to the next round. Tournament play will take place in Countryside YMCA | Lebanon, in the Lower Level Mini Gym. Games will start at 11:00am in the morning, and a schedule will be released once registrations are complete.
Registration for the tournament is open now, and will end October 9, 2020. All registrations must be received by this date. Tournament fees are $20 per participant, and participants will receive a t-shirt as part of their registration. Partners should sign up individually, then you will be able to play together during your match.
Pickleball is a fun sporting activity that is suitable for all ages. Played on a court with the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, Pickleball can be played indoors or outside. Pickleball combines the sporting elements of badminton, table tennis (ping pong) and tennis. Using large paddles and a perforated plastic ball, game play is slower than its elemental counterparts, making it ideal for older players, or players who like to play at a slower pace.
Always a popular sport here at the Countryside YMCA, we offer free pickup games during the week, in the afternoons, for ages 45+. Pickleball is a great way to improve your mood and mental health by getting out of the house and playing with others in a friendly competition. You can burn some calories in a low impact sport that can be much for fun than just walking! With a slower pace, Pickleball still helps improve balance and coordination, especially in older players. Pickleball is a great social sport that allows new friendships that can last for years, on and off the court.
