2023 Mason Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

Join us for the Inaugural Mason Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk & have a healthier and happier Thanksgiving Day!
As millions of Americans are waking up on Thanksgiving Day, tuning in to the Macy’s Day Parade and preheating the oven, many will be lacing up their shoes and heading over to the Mason Corwin Nixon Park for the Inaugural Mason Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk.
No longer will anyone have to drive all the way downtown for a holiday race that's all about family, fun and friends! We want people to come out and enjoy themselves and be thankful for every day spent with loved ones and friends, right here in Mason.
Participants are encouraged to dress-up in their best costumes (pilgrims to turkeys and everything in between!) Where else do you get to dress up in costume in the morning to go for a walk or jog? Our goal is to promote family, togetherness, community, giving, and an active lifestyle. Come be a part of a community alive with feel good vibes this Thanksgiving morning!! We have partnered this year with the Mason Comet Cupboard (run by Girl Scout Troop 44405). They provide weekly weekend food bags for students as well as daily food for those who are in need.

Also provided are monthly personal care packs as well as spirit wear, coats and more. 10% of the students in Mason City Schools are food insecure. **On Race Day, we are asking for donations of: Ramen packets and Instant cups of Mac & Cheese.

Out of town this Thanksgiving? Consider donating! 50% of all cash donations will go to the Comet Cupboard! Additional proceeds benefit the Mason girls and boys Cross Country and Track & Field organizations.
