Lindner Center of HOPE Launches Community Educational Opportunity
While women are more commonly associated with eating disorders, the illness isn't just affecting women and young adolescents. More than a million adult and young adolescent males battle the illness every day. Eating disorders are biologically based, devasting illnesses that can have potentially life-threatening consequences. They affect a person's emotional and physical health, productivity and relationships. The Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program at the Lindner Center of HOPE is launching a monthly health series beginning October 6, 2011 and will adress the multitude of issues surrounding eating disorders.
An Evening with an Eating Disorders Expert will offer an opportunity for individuals to learn about the complexities of an eating disorder. The forum is open to primary care doctors, mental health professionals, family members or those interested in learning more about the dianosis and treatment of eating disorders.
