Touch A Truck Returns for 2023

 
The super popular Touch a Truck event is coming back to Deerfield Township and has more trucks than ever! Join us on Saturday, September 9, 10-1 pm, to let your little ones climb in and explore a variety of vehicles they see around the community. Fire trucks, Army vehicles, garbage trucks, tractors, and many more will be onsite! There will also be inflatables, a GIANT sandbox, Kona Ice, trackless train rides, superheroes, and much more. Kids of ages will have a blast meeting their local heroes from their own community. See you there!

Free Sustainability Workshop

 
The parks department excited to partner with OSU Warren County Extension to present the upcoming workshop "Sustainability in your Home". Laura Stanton, Family and Consumer Sciences educator, will be giving you all the latest tips on which products and habits to adopt in order to make your homelife more eco-friendly. Each participant will leave with a FREE sustainability kit to get you started. Mark your calendar to join us August 29 at 6:30 PM in the Kingswood Activity Center for this informative presentation.

Seasons Last Outdoor Movie

 
Grab your blankets and snacks and head to Cottell Park on Friday, September 22, for this years third and final Movie in the Park, "Monster's University". The pre-show activities begin at 7 pm with oversized outdoor games and a fun fall craft for the kids. The movie will begin at dusk. Kona Ice will be available for purchase. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. We hope your family joins us for an evening of outdoor entertainment!

Bird Watching for Beginners
 
Bird watching and being in nature have many positive health benefits, including lowering blood pressure, anxiety, and stress. Learn all the skills and tips you need to get started with this wonderful hobby at our Intro to Bird Watching class led by expert Laura Stanton, educator from the OSU extension. The class will be held Thursday, 9/14, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The class begins in the Kingswood Activity Center, then heads outside to try out the tips you learned!

Deerfield Handmade Market

 
Deerfield Handmade Market, presented by The Arts Alliance, will take place at Cottell Park on Sunday, September 17, from 11 - 5 pm. This will be the biggest market yet, with over 90 vendors!
Spend your afternoon strolling through the market while shopping for a variety of unique goods from local artisans and enjoying live music throughout the day. Food and beverage trucks will be available also. The Handmade Market is free to enter and has ample parking.

Creative Kids Club

September 2, 2 - 4 pm
 
Do you have a crafty kid at home? Creative Kids Club is the perfect way for them to spend a Saturday afternoon learning the art of quilling. Instructor Terri Riddle will teach them the artform of using rolled paper to create a fall themed masterpiece! This program is designed for children age 6 - 12. The children will have fun with friends while creating a unique work of art. Spots are still open, so register now!

Deerfield Fall Wellness Walks

Multiple dates beginning September 11
 
One of the most popular requests for a new Township program is a walking group. We heard you, and are happy to announce that there is now a Fall Wellness Walking group beginning in September. These leisurely walks will take you through the beautiful gardens and prairie of Kingswood Park. Enjoy great conservation with friends, old and new, while soaking in the beauty of nature surrounding you. No registration necessary!
