Staff Accountant

This position will be responsible for month-end closing procedures which includes preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, account analysis and transaction processing as needed. This position focuses on inventories and the standard costing system at the direction of the Cost accounting Manager as well as fixed assets and other general accounting areas, as assigned. This position will also support routine financial analyses and participate in special assignments, including implementation of process improvements and control enhancements.


  • Responsible for the elements of the month-end close as assigned including preparation of journal entries and related support; assigned areas may include cash and investments, prepaid expenses, inventories and cost of sales, fixed assets, and certain departmental accruals
  • Variance fluctuation analysis on assigned general ledger accounts and/or department spending
  • Prepare assigned monthly or quarterly general ledger account reconciliations within BlackLine, ensuring reconciling items are appropriately supported and any differences are resolved timely
  • Monthly fixed asset roll-forward preparation that reconciles general ledger balances with additions, depreciation, disposals, and foreign exchange fluctuations
  • Assist the Cost Accounting Manager with:
    • Maintaining inventory past master file (primarily material, labor, and overhead standard costs)
    • Preparation and distribution of monthly operations reports
    • Standard costing analysis
  • Provides support to internal and external auditors, and other parties as requested by management
  • Participate in various Finance projects as requested
  • Follow policies, procedures, and control enhancements related to assigned areas

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with requisite Accounting/GAAP knowledge
  • 0-3 years of accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel user
  • Effective computer, verbal communication and written/report writing skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to communicate within the organization and to external parties
  • Detail-oriented with appropriate organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prepare accurate analyses and reconciliations
  • Ability to travel 5%


  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or medical device environment
  • Data analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP


  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
