DESCRIPTION:What: Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and State Funding Opportunities & Proposal Preparation Workshop is designed to help companies learn more about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) SBIR program\, which supports the development of innovative environmental technologies in areas of interest to the EPA.\n\n\n\nRepresentatives from SBIR\, EPA\, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)\, Ohio Third Rontier and regional and state economic development organizations will also provide information on funding opportunities in Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana\, proposal development resources and assistance\, and technology areas of interest. A networking session will allow for opportunities to meet one-on-one with these organizations.\n\n\n\nWho's Organizing: U.S. EPA with CincyTech\, U.S. SBA\, and the regional Water Technology Innovation Cluster\n\n\n\nWho's Invited: Techonology companies and researchers interested in learning more about proposal requirements and review processes\, past vendor experiences\, and tips for submitting successful proposals under the EPA SBIR program and other state and regional funding opportunities.\n\n\n\nRequests for Proposals: In 2011\, the EPA SBIR solicitation will include\, among other topics\, a focus on the need for improved drinking water treatment technologies\, including sustainable innovations that address contaminants\, decrease energy demands and reduce the cost of treatment\, and provide solutions to water infrastructure challenges. The request for proposals will be available after March 15\, at www.epa.gov/ncer/sbir.
