Atrium Medical Center Offers Free Hernia Seminar
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (July 5, 2018): Hernias and how they are treated will be the topic of a free seminar at Atrium Medical Center on Wednesday, July 25. Check-in and light appetizers begin at 5:30 p.m., with the presentation and a Q&A session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Surgeons James de Caestecker, DO, and Michelle DeGroat, MD, will discuss hernia signs and symptoms, who is at risk, and current treatment options.
A hernia is a condition in which an organ or tissue pushes through a weak area in the cavity that contains it. Hernias can cause groin pain, nausea, or a bulge in the affected area. However, some people have no symptoms. A hernia will not heal on its own. Premier Health surgeons can repair a hernia by using traditional techniques or by taking a minimally invasive approach with small incisions, sometimes using a robot controlled by the surgeon. Most people return to work soon after hernia surgery.
The seminar is free and open to the public. Reservations are required, as seating is limited. Register by calling CareFinders at (866) 608-3463 or visit https://www.PremierHealth.com/HerniaEvent/.
Atrium Medical Center is located at One Medical Center Drive in Middletown. The seminar will be held in the auditorium on the fifth floor of the Professional Building. Use the Professional Building entrance.
